Bio
I am a Biologist from the Universidad de Oriente, Venezuela, with a PhD in Biological Sciences (Natural Resources option) from the Centro de Investigación Científica de Yucatán and a postdoctoral degree from the Universidad de Colima. I have participated in research projects related to the flora of Venezuela and western Mexico, as well as others associated with orchids at the continental and Mesoamerican level. I am author or co-author of book chapters, books, more than 20 publications in peer-reviewed and indexed journals and several popular articles. I am currently a Full Time Professor at the University of Colima and a member of the National System of Researchers of Mexico (level 1). I also develop mainly the line of Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution of Neotropical Plants. I am currently developing an EPIC project to characterize the honeys of Colima and generate a certification mechanism that allows beekeepers in the region to gain access to new markets and can also sell their products at a better price.
