Architect and urbanist graduated at Escola de Arquitetura da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1982), Belo Horizonte, Brazil; specialist in Planning Studies for Development Countries at Heriot-Watt University (1992), Edinburgh, Scotland, through a scholarship granted by the British Council; specialist in Technological Systems applied to the Built Environment at Escola de Arquitetura da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2013), Belo Horizonte, Brazil; master in Sustainable Built and Heritage Environment at Escola de Arquitetura da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2013), Belo Horizonte, Brazil; board member (2012-2014) and vice president (2015-2017) of Conselho de Arquitetura e Urbanismo de Minas Gerais - CAU/MG, the state council of architecture and urbanism; having worked for the local government at Prefeitura Municipal de Itajubá, Brazil, through the Medium-sized Cities Program, held by state government via Secretaria de Planejamento do Estado de Minas Gerais (1983-1986); having been working since 1991 for Belo Horizonte´s local government, Brazil, at Secretaria Municipal de Política Urbana, the urban policy secretariat, and at Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente da Prefeitura de Belo Horizonte, the environment secretariat, having acquired experience in urban legislation, land development, municipal technical cadastre, urban afforestation, urban sustainable drainage systems, sustainable infrastructure, territory vulnerability and climate change, being a member of the Municipal Council on Climate Change and Eco-efficiency.
