Bio
Saidatulakmal Mohd is a Professor at the School of Social Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. She joined the university in 2005 upon completion of her Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. Her main area of research is welfare economics, concentrating more on the wellbeing of older persons and social protection. Other areas that interest her include sustainability, development economics, tourism and heritage economics and public finance. She has been consulted on many occasions for the above-mentioned economics areas by many organizations, which include the local governments and agencies as well as international organizations such as the OECD Korea Policy Centre, United Nations Research Institute of Social Development, Open Budget Partnership, Penang State Government and Economic Planning Unit.
