Dr. Robert Schmidt’s class, Living with
Wildlife, partnered with the City of Logan’s
forestry crew to prune some of Logan’s 11,000
street trees. As Dr. Schmidt’s class focused on
issues related to human interactions with
wildlife, this project gave students the
opportunity to assist with the actual
management of urban wildlife habitat, and
demonstrate how residents’ selection and care
of trees can impact urban ecosystems. Students
